The project design evokes a natural healing landscape and harmonises with the terrain of the site, flowing towards the protected wetlands at the lower end of the site. The building mass is split to create a landscaped terrace between a "Fast Medicine" block and a "Slow Medicine" block for shorter and longer stay patients respectively. Activity centres, dining areas and therapeutic gardens are built at ward level to encourage patients to move around and participate in rehabilitative therapy. The hospital accommodates up to 300 beds and houses a full suite of operating theatres, outpatient departments, ERs, ICUs, as well as facilities for diagnostic imaging and birthing.

The concept maximizes a tight site to double the size of the existing hospital and provide international standard of facilities. It adds 100 beds, OTs, Birthing, SICUs, OPDs to compliment the facilities in the adjacent block to which it will be linked by bridges. The scheme integrates passive and active design and efficient control systems.

This facility is an extension of the existing main hospital in Trivandrum and is inspired by the houseboats of Kerala. It adds 200 beds, operating theatres, specialist outpatient departments, birthing facilities and ICUs to complement the existing facilities on the campus. It also houses 800 mechanical parking bays in the basements, logistic and main drop-off at Level 1 and, above this, a discrete elevated drop-off for VIPs with dedicated flows within the building. The facility is designed to international standards and integrates passive and active design and efficient control systems.
