This Paediatric Outpatient setting is a joint venture between NUH and KTPH.
The “Tree House” concept creates a distracting and playful destination for young patients that also serves as a healing atmosphere. It hovers above the NUH Hospital complex and is linked to the adjacent paediatric inpatient and main hospital facilities.
It accommodates Paediatric Clinics, Imaging Department, Rehabilitation, Educational and Research facilities. The child-centred solutions such as healing gardens, rehab playground, child-friendly waiting areas and age appropriate interior design and way finding respond well to young patient’s needs. Sustainable healthcare solutions such as naturally-ventilated public spaces, light pipes and inset gardens, introduce vast amounts of daylight and air into the waiting areas. This helps reduce running costs and the spread of air born infections.
The green façade and level 1 “Alice in the Wonderland” garden enhance sustainable and child friendly character of the building.
